Description

Dubai announced the launch of a new free zone dedicated to the fast-growing e-commerce industry to attract more foreign investments. Dubai CommerCity is a joint venture between DAFZA and wasl Asset Management Group and will be the first free zone dedicated to e-commerce in the MENA region. Dubai CommerCity is strategically intended to promote Dubai’s position as a leading platform for international e-commerce and to support economic diversification and smart transformation strategies.

Dubai CommerCity will be divided into three clusters designed in a modern and innovative way to strategically achieve environmental and investment sustainability. Dubai CommerCity's Business Cluster will include 13 office buildings with a total leasable area of 108,000 sqm and a total built-up area of 136,000 sqm. The Logistics Cluster will consist of 84 units with a total building-up area of 71,000 sqm and a leasable area of 68,000 sqm. PVC solar panels installed at the rooftop of the buildings will generate clean energy. The Social Cluster of Dubai CommerCity will include art galleries, luxury restaurants and cafes.

The project, which will be implemented in two phases, is intended to be a comprehensive and modern system that supports the e-commerce sector and meets the current and future needs of logistics, electronic payments, IT solutions and customer services. The Dubai CommerCity - located in the Umm Ramool area near Dubai Airport - will cater major regional and international manufacturers to store their goods, products and spare parts in state-of-the-art, fully-equipped and technology-enabled warehouses. The goods will be sold via e-commerce and be shipped to local markets in record time. More details: http://www.dubaicommercity.ae/
