Did you miss the opportunity to avail the 55 % traffic fine discount in Ras Al Khaimah? It’s not too late. RAK Police have extended the discount period to 2 December 2017, following repeated requests from the public.
The special initiative providing a 55 % traffic fine discount for all types of road violations in Ras Al Khaimah was effective from 1 November to 15 November 2017. Now, the period has been extended for 17 more days. Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of the RAK Police, said the extension was meant to mark the UAE's 46th National Day.
Official records show that the fixed and portable radars on the roads in Ras Al Khaimah have detected up to 219,746 speeding drivers in the first nine months of 2017. The speeding cameras are meant to curb reckless drivers and boost safety on the roads of Ras Al Khaimah.
Maj-Gen Al Nuaimi pointed out: "The 55 per cent discount is not only the biggest ever in the emirate, but also the first-of-its-kind here. The reduction decision is in line with the RAK police initiatives to bring happiness to customers, and urge them to observe traffic rules and regulations. The move will reduce financial burdens on all members of the society."
